It may take a few weeks to several months to close on a deal.As far as the price, look up the home on Zillow.com and see how it compares with similar homes to see if it's priced fairly. The bank will compare how much you've offered against how much they will lose in a foreclosure (which can cost around $50,000)

I know how you feel. Do you think it's likely they will accept our offer. It is about 12% below the asking price.

We put an offer on a short sale home nearly 2 weeks ago. I have been finding that the turn around time has gotten much worse since last year. I closed almost 60 short sales in 2007 and am on pace to only do half of that this year. The main reason is that it is getting harder to get offers and taking longer to get approvals on short sales.

Susan,<br

Even battling it out with reos and investors is becoming an ugly situation.

Ugh, short sales are hard enough.
